On a winter's evening in 1832, an ox cart arrived in the village of London; its cargo an Anglican cleric and his family, newly emigrated from Ireland. The parson, Benjamin Cronyn, would undertake the curacy of St. Paul's Church, and begin a career that would have a lasting effect on the worldwide Anglican communion. The formation of the Diocese of Huron and a seminary of the same name, are testaments to Cronyn's strength as a leader. As the first Bishop of Huron, and the first synodically elected Bishop in the world, Cronyn's unyielding faith would set the stage for the establishment of the Anglican Church in the Western reaches of Upper Canada.
This project was produced in cooperation with The Anglican Diocese of Huron.
